Dr. Kent Prain has served as Staff Evangelist at Fellowship Baptist Church since 1992. When in town, he teaches Sunday School, assists in Fellowship’s 2:52 Clubs, and teaches Release Time, a Bible class for a local public school. He has preached and ministered in many states, Canadian provinces, and seven foreign countries since he entered full-time evangelism in 1980.
Brother Prain grew up in Michigan and was saved through the ministry of Grace Baptist Church in Bellville, MI when he was sixteen years old. He was called to preach while a freshman at Eastern Michigan University studying Electrical Engineering. He enrolled at Bob Jones University and graduated with his B.A. in Bible in 1975 and his Master of Divinity in 1980. In 2011, Brother Prain was honored with a Doctor of Divinity degree from Puerto Rico Baptist College. He was ordained into the Gospel Ministry in 1975, and has preached whenever the opportunity has arisen.
He met Joann in 1975 through a church Sunday School Class, and they were married in 1977. Joann was a Registered Medical Technologist, and received her Medical Missions Certificate from BJU in 1977. She has helped her husband to raise their six children and now together they enjoy their ten grandchildren. The Prains joined Fellowship Baptist Church in 1991, where Dr. Prain has been a valuable asset to the ministry as a teacher, counselor, and preacher.
